About Andrew Blake
At the age of 7, I decided I wanted to be a salad for Halloween, having no idea I was beginning a life-long journey with building costumes. It was a hobby and occasional side-business for most of my life, but four years ago, I decided to pursue formal education in the craft and follow my dreams of making it a career. I am now in my final year at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Arts, and intend to move to the Los Angeles area after graduation in 2018 in hopes of building costumes for television and film. My love of detail and storytelling through costume is strongly suited to the world of high-definition closeup and practical effects, and I look forward to continually challenging my skills with new materials and techniques as I tackle each new project and bring the dreams of designers and expression of actors to vividly realized life.
